“Upside Down” is a book about eight serious political, social and economic issues which have the potential, each separately or several together, to push America into the abyss.

Chapters 1-8 are issue specific and each chapter has Roeder’s solutions in bold, black print. For example, Chapter 1 is about our current political system, a system in dire straits. As a History major in college, Mike has been a life long student of the American political system and have been active in local politics. Chapter 7 is about war and its potential consequences for this country and the world. Mike’s thirty-two years of military service and actual involvement in the Persian Gulf conflict in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, fueled his continued interest in military history after retirement. Chapter 9 summarizes the book and Chapter 10 is a daily update of those issues which continued to unfold after this book went to the publisher on December 6, 2023.
